Wonderful position, practically on the beach, with wonderful views out to sea. All rooms have a seaview balcony. The staff are extremely welcoming and attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. I will be there for two weeks in December and this is the tenth holiday I have spent there. - Mavis Geogarty

Went to the Botanical Gardens, well worth a visit and also to the museum in Las Palmas.
Went to the Botanical Gardens, well worth a visit and also to the museum in Las Palmas but must say it was difficult to find. We also went up to Galder, a lovely little town in the mountains. Also visited Porto Morgan and went to the Irish restaurant and had John Dory - the best meal we had.
The Don Quitox restaruant in the harbour area of Porto Rico is well worth a visit, it was fully booked every night we were there so it must be good!
Always hire a car if possible as there are so many lovely towns in the mountains. Try not to be too scared of driving on the winding roads although the local buses seems to go anywhere you wish to visit. - Madeline Napper

I went on holiday to Gran Canaria with my family for three weeks at Christmas. We stayed in a resort called Puerto Rico and it was amazing.
We stayed at a private place called The Rosslara. The accommodation was not all that but we spent hardly anytime in out appartment. The night time entertainment at the Europa and Commercial centre were really good with a range of nightclubs, bars, restaurants and gift shops. During the day Amadores beach was perfect. Lounging about in the red hot sun on a beautiful man made beach was heaven! The cafes and restaurants which were scattered all around you on the promenade also helped! There was so much to do and it was so much fun. With all the different excursions and different places to visit you could never get board here This was a once in a lifetime holiday and I would recommend it to everyone. It has the quieter parts for the older people and the more up beat areas for the younger people. Children have so much fun because there is so much to do there. I would visit this place again as it is well worth the money. - Jade
