This was my 7th visit to Lanzarote, this time we stayed in Playa Blanca (puerto del carmen usually). I would say that this resort is ideal for couples and families with young children.
This is the second year running we have used Monarch Airlines for our flights and not a single delay, yet brilliant we will be booking again for next year keep up the good work Monarch.

My son has a villa in Playa Blanca.F ire Mountain has always been a hit with our visitors. Try alittle village called El Golfo lovely food and sights.

Puerto del Carmen - great for couples of any age - loads of good restaurants - Italian, Indian, Chinese you name it - loud enough for a load of beers if you want that scene - quiet enough to relax if you don't.
Friendly people great apartments - try the Atalayas !!! Betting in a few bars if you want to - loads of English / Irish pubs and lots of Spanish ones too - a great mix !! Party on or relax depending on what you want - its all there !! Better for couples and families rather than loads of all male or female parties - which suits us!! we are destined for our 6th holiday there in 3 years - cant beat it !!! - Tina Barton

If you holiday in Puerto del Carmen you must pay a visit to La Hoya complex in the old town.

Playa Blanca, the marina Rubicon is a very modern harbour with lots of boats, bars, restaurants and a brilliant market every weds and sat morning.

We are regulars to Lanzarote in particular Playa Blanca. It has something for everyone - a beautiful sandy beach in the main town with clear blue water or you can trek by car, boat or foot to the natural beauty of the Papagayo beaches.
We love to sit at a cafe or restaurant in the new Rubicon Marina and take in the view or watch the fish swim underneath us! This area has a good selection of shops and plenty of activities for the kids! Playa Blanca in my opinion is the best resort on the Island, you have fantastic views of the volcanos as well as the costline of Fuerteventura (which is only a 17min crossing by ferry). It is an excellent resort for relaxation as well as being lively enough to keep the kids amused! A very safe resort and very family orientated. We are regular visitors and I could go on and on about places to go and retaurants to try but why not see for yourself and book a holiday to Playa Blanca. Stay at a luxury 5* hotel or a private villa or self catering apartment - the choice is endless! - Karen Boxall

Returned to the Island for Easter and stayed in Costa Teguise having regularly stayed in Puerto del Carmen for many many years.
We prefer the Costa Teguise area to stay but prefer the harbour area of Puerto del Carmen for the wonderful restaurants. Costa Teguise is quieter and is ideally suited to those less mobile with coastline pathway easily accessible for venturing further. - K Blount

I spend a lot of time in Lanzarote as it is the best of the Canary Islands. It has some fine people, lovely scenery (you have to make an effort and remove yourself from the beach) and a wonderful climate.

As a regular visitor to Lanzarote since 1982 and with well over 70 visits to my credit, I feel well qualified to comment on the island.
This is especially as I have also travelled the world extensively. Lanzarote provides the perfect wind down zone and the beach in Puerto del Carmen is as good as any I have ever seen. Lanzagrotty - dont believe it!Four hours from Manchester and almost always sunshine - wonderful! Best self catering accomodation is at Las Brisas - near the village centre & shops. Not easy to find companies selling this resort but try one of the privately owned villas at the resort. - Howard Randall

Its a wonderful island with many attractions and places to visit.
