St Georges : Accommodation Only
One of the Caribbean's prettiest towns, St. George's is Grenada's capital and circles a gorgeous, horseshoe-shaped harbour sheltered by emerald hills. Picture-postcard, pastel-painted houses cling to the slopes and below, you'll find fascinating shops, elegant buildings, a scenic promenade and bustling market to explore. Overlooking the harbour is Fort George, an 18th century fort built by the French, which commands scintillating views over the bay, and at night, there are plentiful bars and inviting restaurants serving authentic Grenadian cuisine to enjoy. When you fancy casting your net wider, nearby Grand Anse beach offers up powdery, palm-fringed sands, aquamarine waters and superb watersports and reef- and wreck-diving trips, and St. George's makes an ideal base for delving into the island's lush National Parks, beautiful waterfalls and spice plantations or enjoying catamaran cruises around the idyllic, cove-dotted shores.
