Sharm el Sheikh highlights
Beaches and adventure seekers
Sharm el Sheikh has some of the most wonderful beaches which span for miles and are a great reason to visit the resort alone. You can easily spend your whole holiday lying on the beach, with a drink and book in hand while listening to the soft ripples of the clear blue sea lapping against the sand. The views are stunning and second to none and even if lying on a beach isn’t high on your agenda, there is something for everyone to do. The adventure seekers can partake in a number of watersports and we highly recommend that you give scuba diving, or at least snorkelling a go as the underwater scenery is so stunning it really would be a shame to miss it. For those who would like to stay above the water, windsurfing, canoeing, banana boating and para-sailing are very popular sports to try and are very fun.
Visit Tiran Island
Tiran Island is a place like no other and if it’s tranquility you’re looking for, then a trip is highly recommended. It is a diver’s paradise as the reefs and corals that you can explore are out of this world. There are a number of shipwrecks around Tiran Island which make for a magnificent experience when exploring them both from above and under the water. For those who don’t feel like diving into the water, taking a boat trip is a great way to explore a change in scenery. The views are completely breathtaking so make sure to pack your camera.
There really isn’t a better place to go stargazing than in the desert, and it is a great way to peacefully discover what the area has to offer at night aside from the number of restaurants and bars in the resorts. Regardless of whether or not you are a budding astronomer or not, there is no way that you will not be amazed while looking up to the clear night sky and the number of bright stars which light it up. There are a number of excursions which often offer some traditional Bedouin food around a campfire to make the experience even more magical.
Although there is so much to do in Sharm el Sheikh, a visit to the capital, Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza is an absolute must and a fantastic way to take in the history and wonder of the mystical country. The ancient sites in Luxor are well worth journeying to also, and you can get there via a short plane flight. From the Valley of the Kings where the tomb of Tutankhamun can be found, and the Karmac temples, it is the perfect way to experience ancient Egypt.
