Baggage Allowance
  • Upon payment of applicable hold (checked-in) baggage charge, up to 20kg hold (checked-in) baggage per person (plus 10kg for any infants). For latest hold baggage charges please visit Prices vary according to route and are subject to change. If you have not paid for your bags yet you can add bags online later at the online price, but if you have already paid and want to take more bags you will have to call us and pay the call centre price.
  • Excess baggage will be charged at the prevailing rate at time of flight. Visit for current rates.
  • Any hand baggage taken to the gate that exceeds the maximum weight and size restrictions will be placed into the hold and a penalty charge of £50/€62 will be levied
  • Vantage Club Gold and Silver members can take up to 30kg hold baggage per person.
  • ONE item of hand baggage per person, not exceeding 10kg and total dimensions of 56cm x 40cm x 25cm or TWO items of hand baggage weighing no more than 10kg and, combined, no bigger than 56cm x 40cm x 25cm. This allowance cannot be combined with your hold baggage allowance. Note: The department for Transport has removed the single hand baggage restriction at certain UK airports from the 07 January 2008 - however this change does not affect airline's own hand baggage regulations and as such Monarch's hand baggage policy (outlined above) remains unchanged.
  • Maximum weight of any single hold bag must not exceed 32kg.
  • Security update - The Department for Transport has announced that EU passengers may carry a limited quantity of liquids i.e. gels, lotions, pastes, liquid cosmetics, foams and foodstuffs in their hand baggage when going through airport security checkpoints. All liquids must be in individual containers not greater than 100ml capacity and must be placed in one transparent, re-sealable (such as ziplock) bag (only one bag per passenger), no larger than 20cm x 20cm in size. The containers must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be fastened closed. For full details visit

Pre-allocated Seats
  • All seat fees are non-refundable. Seat fees are transferable should you change your flight. Seat requests will be honoured wherever possible, however they cannot be guaranteed.
  • For safety reasons, passengers occupying exit row seats must be fit and able bodied, aged 16 or above and have weight in proportion to height. Seat requests may be altered at check-in or on board if passengers do not meet these criteria.
  • Subject to operational requirements, it may be necessary to change the aircraft type operating your flight. In such circumstances, we will endeavour to match your seat request on the new aircraft, however this cannot be guaranteed.
  • Should we need to amend your seat selection, but are unable to honour any extra legroom seat reservations you may have paid for, you will receive a refund of the seat reservation fees.


General Information
  • It is important to arrive at the appropriate check-in desk for your Monarch flight 3 hours before the scheduled time of departure. Check-in opens 3 hours prior to scheduled departure from all UK airports and 2 hours prior to scheduled departure from all other airports. Check-in closes 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
  • Pre-order your in-flight meals online and you can take advantage of the discounted online rate and guarantee your delicious hot meal and free filter coffee or tea.

  • All fares are non-refundable, changes are allowed up to 3 hours prior to travel, subject to payment of applicable fees, see below.
  • Time/date change £35/€44 per person, per one way flight at (£40/€50 via call centre) plus any difference between the original fare purchased and the fare at the time of making the change (if higher). Name change £100/€125 per name, per booking at (£120/€150 via call centre). Fees may be subject to alteration without notice.

Travel Insurance - have you changed your flight?
  • If you purchased insurance at the time you booked your flight and subsequently changed your flight times, please note that this may invalidate your travel insurance. If your revised duration overseas does NOT extend beyond 48 hours of your original duration then you are covered by your original Monarch Travel Insurance. However, if your new duration DOES extend beyond 48 hours of the original duration you will need to pay an additional premium or purchase a new policy in order to keep your insurance cover valid.
