car hire - Europe: Avis Cars - terms & conditions

If you book car hire through the Monarch site your contract is with Avis and not with Monarch. Booking terms and conditions can be found here on the Avis website (www.avis.co.uk/AboutAvis/Booking-Conditions). Rental terms and conditions will be supplied when you pick up your car – please take the time to read these carefully.

Optional extras:

Avis offers a range of optional extras, subject to availability, for a small extra charge. These include:

• Prepaid fuel

Most optional extras are available to book at time of reservation, and all are available to buy over the counter, subject to availability, upon arrival. Prices vary by location, car group and rental length. Please check with Avis for latest prices.

Baby seats booked at time of reservation are guaranteed for your additional peace of mind.

Driver's age:

Please be aware that there may be a surcharge for younger and/or older drivers. This varies by country. If you are under 25 years old or over 70 years old, please check with Avis for further details.

Driving licence:

• Renters and additional drivers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months, and this must be produced at time of rental. If a customer has a new style UK driving licence they must show both parts.
• An international driving licence is required if the renter or additional driver(s) licence is non-roman alphabet, except for Greek licences, which are acceptable.
• Customers renting in the USA, who do not hold a US driver's licence, will be required to show their passport in addition to their driver's licence at the time of rental.

If you wish to hire a car for only part of your holiday, Avis has over 5,000 locations globally for your convenience. One way rentals are also available, for an additional charge, giving you even greater flexibility.

Please ensure you include your flight number within your booking, so that an Avis representative can wait for you should your flight be delayed.
