When is the best time to fly and visit Ibiza?

While the atmosphere shifts with the seasons, Ibiza remains a prime holiday destination all year round. Located within the sunny Balearic Sea, it boasts the best of Spain, with perfect beach days stretching throughout spring and summer followed by an explosion of natural beauty during the autumn and winter.

Ibiza in May

Things start to heat up in May, both in terms of temperature and atmosphere. While the official party season hasn’t quite kicked off, venues begin to open their doors and there’s a definite buzz around the city. It’s a great time to visit if you want to dip your toes in the Ibiza flavour, without diving in head first.

Average temperature: 18°C, highs of 22°C, lows of 14°C

Ibiza in June, July and August

The clubbing season kicks into action in June, where events amp up with the temperature. The legendary club nights are in full swing by the middle of the month, but it isn’t overflowing with tourists quite yet. For those who want to take part in the action without being swept away by it, June is the time to visit.

During July and August, Ibiza is at its peak for both action and weather. It’s the busiest time of year, with 24-hour club events, pool parties, and beaches packed heat-loving sunbathers. If you’re after the world-famous Ibiza scene, this is the time to visit.

Average temperature: 22°C, highs of 30°C, lows of 18°C

Ibiza in September

Early September still epitomizes the Ibiza spirit, all the way up until the Closing Party week. But by this time the crowds have started to thin out and the temperatures drop slightly, ideal for those who like it hot but not sweltering – both in terms of weather and nightlife.

Average temperature: 24°C, highs of 28°C, lows of 20°C

Ibiza in October

Clubs begin to close and the temperatures ease off. With plenty of bars and restaurants still open, the atmosphere is more relaxed – the ideal time to visit for those looking for a laid-back Ibiza experience.

Average temperature: 21°C, highs of 24°C, lows of 17°C

How many airports are there in Ibiza?

Ibiza Airport is the main hub for flights travelling to and from Ibiza. It’s busiest during May to October, when tourists from across the world flock to enjoy the perfect temperatures and unrivalled nightlife.

Located less than 5 miles from Ibiza town, travel from Ibiza Airport into the centre takes about 30 minutes by bus and 15 minutes by taxi.

Ibiza highlights

Party, party, party

Ibiza’s international reputation is as a party island, and it’s not difficult to see why. Some of the biggest and best nightclubs in the world are here, including Space in Playa d’en Bossa, which was awarded Best Global Club at the International Dance Music Awards in 2012.

Other dance landmarks include Amnesia, DC10, and Privilege, the largest club in the world with a capacity of 10,000 people! The most popular clubs are divided between Ibiza Town on the southern shore and Sant Antoni in the West, and the season normally runs between June and October.

Culture and charm

There’s much more to see in Ibiza than the inside of a club. With over 50 beaches and coves, and some truly beautiful spots at Cala Bassa and Cala d’Hort, there’s plenty of sand to stretch out on and enjoy the sun – whether you’re recovering from the night before or not!

Many of the resorts are also family-friendly, and there are plenty of activities to participate in. Ibiza Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site – as are many other sites on the island – and is protected from development and commercialisation, meaning that much of the island’s original charm and culture has been preserved.

Away from the main towns, Ibiza retains much of its rustic nature, and is popular for photographers and artists alike.
