Our Top Tip For Nice

"Make sure you try socca - a chickpea crepe that is a classic street food in Nice. You can get socca from street vendors around the city, but the best place to try it is at Chez Pipo near the port. They've been making socca since the 1920's - it's always busy but well worth it!" Liz, Cabin Crew

The city of Nice is split in two by the Paillon, a river torrent that runs to the sea, often underground. On the western side is the more modern city, and to the east is the old city of Nice, with its narrow alleys and enticing shops, cafes and bars. The old town is also home to the port and the castle hill. The city and the surrounding areas have a variety of accommodation options, including hotels and villas, for any budget.

If you’re considering a beach holiday with a touch of culture, Nice is the perfect spot. Holidays to Nice can benefit from being able to explore both an historic city and also enjoy great beaches in the city. Also, Nice is the perfect jumping off point for exploring both some of the nearby mountain villages or some of the other top Riviera destinations including St Tropez, Cannes, Monaco and a string of smaller exclusive resorts along the Mediterranean Cote d’Azur. This means that Nice is a great destination for a short city break or a longer holiday, and thanks to its great climate and proximity to ski resorts in the nearby mountains, it also makes for a superb winter and summer holiday resort.
