“If you’re staying in the resort of Hisaronu, take a day trip to Gemiler Beach. It’s a scenic drive with a peaceful beach to look forward to. Once you’ve had a swim and some time to relax, take the bus to Kayaköy to see the ghost village before heading back to Hisaronu.”Michelle, Cabin Crew

Dalaman really does not disappoint as its coast is made up of some of incredible beaches, bays, and coves, which make for beautiful views and perfect holiday relaxation.
Golden brown sand on Patara beach stretches for nine miles, making it the longest one in the Mediterranean. Surrounded by beautiful waters, rolling hills, and ancient ruins, a day trip here will make you feel as though you’ve been transported to another world.
Oludeniz is an hour or so away from Dalaman airport and is home to the world famous Blue Lagoon. Pristine waters lap against the picturesque white beach, and the spot is so popular that part of the lagoon has now been turned into a national park.
The fee to enter is minimal and well worth it for a day of exploration and relaxation. The Blue Lagoon is partially cut off from the rest of the Mediterranean, making it a very secluded place to visit. Clear waters and beautiful temperatures make it the perfect place to swim or to take the children for a spot of snorkelling.
The mud baths, which are situated in Dalyan, are one of the most popular attractions in the Dalaman area and provide a unique experience. Relax with an all-over mud bath and then bask in the sun to let it dry. Next, take a dip in the sulphur springs to clean yourself up and further drift into a state of complete tranquillity. The best way to finish the day off is with a swim and a spot of dinner.
If you prefer a slower pace, one of the unique things to do in the Turquoise Coast region is to take a gulet cruise. Gulets are traditional, single-masted wooden ships, which allow you to cruise along the tranquil and idyllic coastline.
Gulets come with their own crew to pilot the vessel and prepare all your meals too, so there’s no need to worry about that! Just go with the tide, dine on delicious local cuisine, and enjoy sunbathing on deck, or swimming in the peaceful bays where the captain drops anchor.
If you fancy exploring a bit more of Turkey, Bodrum is less than four hours away and well worth checking out. Bodrum is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Turkey, with some wonderful beaches, beautiful views, and a very fun, colourful night life.
The marina and castle are must-see spots, and, as it was originally a fishing village, don’t miss out to sample some delicious, fresh fish in Bodrum.
