Vantage Club is a loyalty programme offered by Monarch Airlines (‘us’/’we’). Set out below are the Terms and Conditions of the programme which govern the relationship between us and all individuals participating in the programme (‘Members’/’you’) as well as outline information on the earning and redemption of Points. For more detail on how Members may earn and redeem Points please see our web pages on Flying Points and Membership Points.
Please read the below Terms and Conditions carefully as all Members will be bound by these.
1.1) Only journeys made on Monarch Airlines flights are applicable to this programme (flight numbers beginning with ZB). Charter flights made with Monarch Airlines are not applicable.
1.2) ‘Card’ when used in these Terms and Conditions refers to a Vantage Club Indigo Membership Number, a Vantage Club Silver Membership Number, or a Vantage Club Gold Membership Number as appropriate, and (where issued) any corresponding Membership Card. Vantage Club Indigo Members do not receive a physical Membership Card.
1.3) The Card remains the property of Monarch Airlines and must be surrendered and returned to us on request.
1.4) When taking advantage of any of the benefits and services offered under the Vantage Club you must have your Card (or your Membership Number) available for inspection. If your Card is not presented, benefits and services may not be available to you.
1.5) Benefits and services available under the Vantage Club programme may only be used in conjunction with travel by the eligible Member on a Monarch Airlines flight.
1.6) Some of the benefits and services offered to Vantage Club Members are provided by third parties over which Monarch Airlines has no direct control. Any arrangements made by you with such third parties will be subject to the terms and conditions of that third party.
1.7) These Terms and Conditions are subject to English Law.
2) Who May Apply and How To Apply
2.1) Membership is only open to individual persons aged two years or above; not companies, partnerships or other similar entities.
2.2) Where a Member is aged under eighteen years of age (“Junior Member”), we will only accept an application for Membership where it is submitted by an adult who is the Junior Member’s parent or legal guardian. The Junior Member’s parent or legal guardian must manage and be responsible for the Junior Member’s account and we reserve the right to cancel the Junior Member’s account if we reasonably believe that this is not the case.
2.3) To apply for Membership you must complete an application form in full, including your name and mailing address. We will notify you that your application has been accepted by assigning a unique Membership Number which is valid for twelve months.
2.4) The person named on the account is the only person entitled to use the Card. Membership is not transferrable.
2.5) You may only hold one Vantage Club account at any time and if more than one account has been opened for a Member in error, the accounts will be merged and the Points transferred to a new single account, less any duplicated Points.
2.6) Employees of Monarch Group companies are not eligible for Membership of Vantage Club.
2.7) Family members of employees of Monarch Group companies are eligible for Membership of Vantage Club but may not earn Membership Points or Flying Points when flying with us on industry discounted tickets by virtue of their relationship with an employee of Monarch Group companies.
2.8) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to refuse Membership of Vantage Club and will not enter into correspondence relating to the reason for refusal.
3) Not Using Your Account, Changes to These Terms and Conditions and Termination
3.1) Your Membership will become inactive if you do not earn a minimum of four Membership Points during every Membership Year. Your Membership Year starts from the date your Membership Number is issued and runs for 12 months. The same rule and dates pattern applies to any future Membership Years.
3.2) Once your Membership has become inactive and you no longer qualify for Vantage Club Indigo Membership, you will have a further 12 months from the expiry date to redeem your Flying Points on any Monarch Airlines flight.
3.3) Once this 12 month period ends your Vantage Club Membership will be terminated and all your remaining Flying Points will be forfeited.
3.4) If, however, during this 12 month period after such expiry you make four one-way flights (not including free flights) we will reactivate your Vantage Club Indigo Membership.
3.5) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to withdraw, cancel or vary in any way at any time without notice any benefit or service previously offered or provided to Vantage Club Members.
3.6) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Such amended Terms and Conditions will be published on the Vantage Club section of our website. The continued earning or redeeming of Points will be taken as acceptance by you of the changed Terms and Conditions.
3.7) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to terminate any individual’s Membership of Vantage
3.7.1 The Member is in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions;
3.7.2 The Member supplies false or misleading information or if they are abusive or offensive to any member of our staff;
3.7.3 The Member dies. In this scenario the deceased individual’s Membership will be cancelled and any Points earned but unused at the time of death shall be forfeited and cannot be transferred;
3.7.4 Monarch Airlines reasonably believes that the Member has dealt with Points in a manner not permitted by these Terms and Conditions or otherwise in a fraudulent or dishonest manner.
3.8) Members may close their Vantage Club account at any time by notifying Vantage Club Customer Services. (Vantage.Club@monarch.co.uk)
3.9) Monarch Airlines may terminate the programme immediately if required to do so by any competent authority or otherwise by law.
3.10) Monarch Airlines retains the absolute discretion to terminate the programme at any time upon six months prior notice to all Members.
4) Data Protection, Marketing and Investigating Your Account
4.1) By enrolling into the programme/signing the Membership Card and/or taking advantage of any of the services and benefits offered under the Vantage Club programme, you consent to Monarch Airlines maintaining and updating your personal data:
4.1.1 For marketing and market research purposes and
4.1.2 To send mailings to you
4.3) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to investigate any Member’s account at any time, without prior notice. If we find that a Member has breached these Terms and Conditions the Member’s account will be suspended until there has been a satisfactory resolution of the matter.
4.4) Whilst Monarch Airlines try to ensure that all information on our website and any publications made are correct, Monarch Airlines are not responsible for any errors or their consequences. In particular, if the number of Flying Points needed to redeem a reward is actually higher than the number stated on our website or other publications, we reserve the right to reject the redemption requested by the Member.
5) Membership Points
5.1) The fare types eligible for the issue of Membership Points and the applicable Membership levels will be determined by Monarch Airlines. Monarch Airlines reserves the right to change the criteria for Points awarded and/or Membership levels without prior notice.
5.2) Membership Points will be awarded only when you quote your personal Membership Number at the time of reservation.
5.3) Free flight tickets, rebated flight tickets, group or inclusive tour flight tickets or any which do not indicate a published fare, will not earn Flying Points or Membership Points.
5.4) Only Vantage Club Members will earn Membership Points.
5.5) You must actually travel on a Monarch Airlines flight to earn Membership Points regardless of who pays for the ticket(s).
5.6) Membership Points must not be transferred to another Member’s personal account.
5.7) In case of dispute Monarch Airlines reserves the right to require proof of travel including copies of tickets together with your original boarding cards for Monarch Airlines flights claimed to have been flown. Such claims will not be considered beyond six months from the date of travel. Monarch Airlines decision shall be final.
6) Flying Points
6.1) Flying Points will be awarded and registered to your account based on flights you have actually taken with Monarch. Registration of Flying Points awarded may take several days.
6.2) After being registered to your account, Flying Points may be redeemed for free flights with Monarch for yourself, as long as you have the full amount of Flying Points required for the flight you wish to take in your account at the time you wish to redeem your Flying Points.
6.3) You may make changes to free flight bookings subject to availability. For Indigo and Silver Members, payment of the administration fee is required. If you cancel or no show for a free flight the Flying Points will not be re-credited to your account.
6.4) The payment of all government taxes and other incidental fees/taxes/surcharges is your responsibility and free tickets will not be issued until such payment is received by Monarch Airlines.
6.5) Monarch Airlines reserves the right to change the redemption value of Flying Points and may introduce time restrictions reducing the period of validity. If Flying Points are not used during the period of validity they will be forfeited.
6.6) Upon closure of the Vantage Club programme all remaining Flying Points will be forfeited.
6.7) Flying Points are not transferable.
6.8) Flying Points cannot be exchanged for cash.
6.9) Flying Points are valid for three years from the date they were earned, after which time they will expire. However if your Membership account is not renewed on the anniversary of your joining the programme (because you do not earn enough Membership Points) then you will have only 12 months to use the Flying Points before the account is closed and all Points are forfeited.
6.10) Redeemed Flying Points cannot be used again. However, if:
6.10.1 A transaction on which Flying Points are redeemed is cancelled prior to the scheduled time of departure we will usually re-credit the relevant Flying Points to your account as long as we do not suspect that you are guilty of any misconduct.
6.10.2 A transaction on which Flying Points are redeemed is as a result of fraud wholly outside of your control or knowledge and not the result of any lack of care of your account details on your part, we may decide in our sole discretion to re-credit the relevant Flying Points to your account.
7) Booking Free Flights
7.1) To book a free flight with your Flying Points, you must contact Vantage Club Customer Services (Vantage.Club@monarch.co.uk)who will then verify you have enough Flying Points in your account and check seat availability.
7.2) Free flights are strictly subject to limited availability and are not available on all flights. Monarch cannot guarantee that your requirements will be met.
8) Vantage Club Gold Membership
8.1) Gold Card Members holding confirmed reservations at ‘saver’ or ‘flexible’ fare levels (which may exclude some promotional fares) may make up to two changes to the date of travel and/or passenger name without any administration charge provided that:
8.1.1) The Gold Member is the passenger and;
8.1.2) The date or name change(s) (as applicable) is/are affected prior to commencement of travel and at least 3 hours’ notice is given.
9.1) Monarch Airlines will not be liable for any losses, costs, damages or claims (whether direct or indirect) suffered by Members resulting from changes to, or the termination of, the Vantage Club programme or the right to earn or redeem Points, except for loss caused by Monarch Airlines’ own negligence or wilful misconduct.
9.2) Whenever you use your Membership Number to obtain or utilise any Vantage Club benefits or services you will be personally liable for all costs, claims or liabilities arising from such use.
10) Lost or Stolen Cards
10.1) Monarch Airlines are not responsible for any unauthorised use of your Flying Points or any lost Cards and any Membership Points or Flying Points earned by fraudulent activity may be taken away.
10.2) It is your responsibility to ensure that you take appropriate care of your account details to prevent unauthorised persons from accessing your account and, unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we shall be entitled to assume that anyone using your security details to access your Vantage Club account is you or a third party authorised by you.
10.3) You must notify Monarch Airlines Vantage Club Customer Services (Vantage.Club@monarch.co.uk) if your Card is lost, stolen or damaged. Once we have been notified your account will be closed and all Vantage Club Points earned and unredeemed will be transferred to a new Membership account with a new Membership Number. Silver and Gold Tier Members will also be issued with a new Membership Card.
11) Rights of Third Parties
A person who is not party to these Terms and Conditions shall have no rights under The Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
