Karavados : Accommodation Only

This idyllic village perched above Lourdas Bay in south-west Kefalonia couldn't be better for a lazy, rural holiday. Away from main roads and swathed in pine and olive groves with Mount Ainos behind, it's got a delightful red-painted church, flower-decked courtyards, a minimarket and typical tavernas specialising in fresh local dishes. A couple of kilometres down the hillside is St. Thomas Bay, with a superb beach, shallow aquamarine seas and waterside taverna, and additional alluring sandy bays await at nearby Spartia and Lourdas. The village is perfect for peaceful evenings admiring the radiant Ionian sunsets and all around the neighbouring coast and countryside, you'll find picturesque villages and the footpath-woven Mount Ainos National Park to explore. For a dose of urban life, Argostoli, with it shops, harbour and interesting museum is just 10 kilometres away.
