Aghios Nikitas : Accommodation Only
Situated on Lefkas' north-west coast, this lovely fishing village has more than a touch of Greek magic. Cocooned in lush, cypress-covered hills, it boasts its own attractive beach, a small arc of white pebbles washed by bright turquoise waters, where it's tempting to stay put all day. Alongside are welcoming tavernas and bars, whilst the main street ascending the hill offers many more shops, coffee houses and authentic eating-places - the latter perfect for whiling away long starlit evenings. For beach day trips, water taxis from the harbour will run you to beautiful Milos beach, overlooked by a ruined windmill or walk to nearby Pefkoulia beach. To get out and about, follow the ancient donkey paths through the cool, wooded hills or take a bus into Lefkas Town to enjoy its museums, shops and waterfront cafes.
