Lefkas : Accommodation Only
Lefkas Town is the capital of Lefkas and sits on the island's northern tip, near the causeway connecting it to the Greek mainland. Pretty as a picture, its jumble of colourful houses borders a harbour lined with open-air tavernas and a café-filled main square. All around, you'll find pedestrianised streets brimming with souvenir shops, outdoor markets Venetian churches and intriguing museums, and above the town, there's a beautiful monastery to explore. At night, numerous music bars open their doors, but otherwise, this is one of the Greek Islands' most laid-back capitals. When the beach calls, head for nearby Agios Ioannis, where you'll find breeze-brushed seas perfect for windsurfing. Or catch the local buses or boats to explore Lefkas' stunning pebble coves and cliff-framed beaches, as well as its pine-wooded hills and idyllic offshore islands.
