Shopping isn't the main activity here on Meganissi, however you'll still be able to pick up a variety of local produce on your travels. If cooking is your forté look out for the culinary goods that are commonly sold in the resort of Spartochori, including olive oil, thyme-infused honey and the island's special almonds. Other popular items include local trinkets, handicrafts and hand-embroidered tablecloths.
Like most of Greece, Meganissi offers simple local cuisines including good quality fresh fish and slow-cooked meats, as well as a host of typical Greek specialities. You will be spoilt for choice with many colourful-canopied cafes and charming tavernas, which boast stunning locations lining the waterfront.
If you're looking for a holiday with a buzzing nightlife, Meganissi isn't the place for you. Things here are generally quite mellow, with much of the focus on the charming seaside cafés and tavernas in the main tourist areas.
