Peloponnese: Introduction

Beautiful blue waters, white sands, secret coves and delightfully charming villages sit alongside lush vegetation and striking landscapes in this beautiful region. The Peloponnese has been a well kept secret with seasoned travelers for many years now and it’s no wonder!

This magnificent area is certainly easy enough to fall in love with. Serene shuttered houses, charismatic cobbled lanes and vibrant harbour settings make this a great holiday spot for those searching for a traditional Greek escape in any one of our Peloponnese resorts.

Reasons to visit

The natural beauty and the cultural riches of this area are anything but overstated. A stay in one of our resorts in this area promises a wealth of opportunities to experience both culture and relaxation.

History buffs will be in their element with a range of well-preserved Frankish, Venetian and Turkish ruins to explore. Beyond the many cultural aspects lies an abundance of picturesque beaches, many of which are dotted along the west coast and all of which can be accessed easily from our many resorts.

Things to see and do

If you’re looking to embark on a cultural adventure then a trip to the Peloponnese wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Argolid – an area rich in ancient Greek history.

Other attractions include the Olympic sanctuary, the almost perfect Homeric palaces of Nestor at Pylos and Agamemnon at Mycenae.

Venturing off the beaten track is the best way to discover the real Greece and when you do so, you’ll stumble upon a number of quaint towns all of which are seeped in traditional character. Inland the landscape boasts incredible scenery with entrancing gorges and valleys. When you tire of trekking and exploring the Peloponnese’s many cultural monuments you can take a trip to one of the nearby beaches for some well deserved relaxation.

If you want to take it easy during your time away you can take to the sea on a kayak to check out the local wildlife or simply splash around by the pool.

Weather

If you’re planning on a sunshine escape, then travelling between the months of May and October is advisable. It’s at this time of year when Greece boasts its highest temperatures with up to 12 hours of sun per day. Just remember to pack your sunscreen!
