Villa Bougainvillea Introduction

Set off the coastal road west from Skiathos Town, the Villa Bougainvillea is the picture of Greek charm. Made up of whitewashed and stone walls and finished with wooden shutters, it epitomises the traditional architecture of Skiathos, setting it apart from standard modern properties.

The villa is a bit different in terms of layout, too. It revolves around a spacious two-bedroom apartment and a separate, one-bedroom studio annexe. Inside, the apartment is decorated in country style with an open-plan kitchen-diner working its way into an airy sitting area with wooden floors, cushioned sofas and a stone fireplace. Doors lead out to a large shaded veranda, furnished with a dining table and commanding fantastic views over the coast. The double and twin bedroom, meanwhile, are kitted out in the same rustic fashion, with tiled floors and simple wooden furniture. The studio annexe is comfortable and bright, with a living area, big double bedroom and its own kitchenette and bathroom.

Architecture aside, the other main draw is the infinity pool. Set in pretty lawns below the villa, it looks directly out over the surrounding wooded hills and bay below. The owners have also supplied sunloungers and a sunshade on the surrounding grass so you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery in comfort.

Access to the villa is along a 350-metre country track from the road, making its setting really peaceful. However, there are shops and beaches nearby and Skiathos Town is just a ten-minute drive away.
