Stafilos : Accommodation Only
Stafilos lies 4.5km from Skopelos town and is a beautiful location abundant in olive groves, wooded hillsides and intimate local tavernas offering wonderful fresh seafood and local dishes and wine. There are two beaches that are part sandy part shingle, Stafilos and Velanio, separated from a headland, and are perfect for relaxing on a sunbed and then enjoying a relaxing lunch at a waterside taverna. The town was named after the mythical Prince Stafiols, his grave was found on the small cape at the right side together with his golden sword that is displayed in the Museum of Athens. It is believed that Prince Stafilos with a group of Cretans settled here and founded a town, in 1600 B.C.
