The variety, sunshine and culture makes the Algarve a consistently popular choice for British holiday makers. The sun-drenched days at the beach here are second to none, and the area has earned a strong reputation as the place to come for golf holidays. There’s beautiful rural countryside, as well as interesting historic attractions and outdoor activities. Only three hours from the UK, it’s an easy break that’s great for all the family.
Other great resorts in the Algarve include: Lagos, Monte Gordo, Armacao de Pera, Quarteira, Tavira, Praia do Vau, Almancil, Olhos d'Agua, Praia da Falesia, Praia da Luz, Porches
The Algarve is fringed by many beaches along the coastline, often backed by rugged cliffs. Some of the best include Praia de Monte Gordo at the eastern end of the coast, Praia de Faro, which is close to the capital, Praia da Falesia, one of the longest beaches in the area and Praia do Amado on the west coast. Chances are you will have come across the stunning beach of Praia da Marinha. This beach is often voted in the top ten beaches in Europe. The beautiful cliff and rock arches are reflected in the crystal clear azure waters.
The Algarve is considered to be one of the world's top golfing destinations. In fact, there’s over 25 courses in the 100-mile coastline, all within easy reach of each other. Vilamoura stands out as it’s home to five 18-hole courses, including the Oceanico Old Course as well as Vilamoura Old Course, Pinhal and Vila Sol. Golfers might also enjoy the courses at Salgados, Palmeres, Gramacho and Laguna!
