In Rome, the area around the Spanish Steps is where you'll find the designer shops. The main shopping street, 'Via del Corso', is where you will find your average high street stores.
Cafes, bars, trattorias and 'ristorante' line the streets and piazzas in Rome. However, the place to see and be seen has to be the Piazza Navona. Cafes border this spectacular square with tables sprawling along the pavements.
There is something for all tastes in Rome with nightclubs that often don't get going until 1am. The Trastevere area is teeming with great places to eat and drink and San Lorenzo (the university quarter) is a lively, cheaper area.
