Xaghra : Accommodation Only
Charming Xaghra sits on a hilltop in the centre of Gozo and is perfect for slowing your stride and savouring the island's old-fashioned tranquillity.
Centred around an impressive Baroque parish church and main square, its picture-postcard streets are lined with stone houses, little shops and authentic eateries, many with tables outside so you can sit in the sunshine over glasses of fruity local wine. Nearby, there's a restored working windmill and quirky Toy Museum to explore, as well as Xerri's Grotto, a magical cavern filled with weirdly shaped stalactites and stalagmites. If you're into history, the fascinating Ggantija Temples - ancient stone structures dating back to 3,000 BC - are nearby, as is captivating Victoria with its lovely squares, cathedral and Citadel. Want the beach? Gozo's finest beach, red-sandy Ramla Bay is close by too.
