Passenger numbers in July soared for Monarch as the school holidays started and the airline carried over 468,000 scheduled passengers - its highest ever number for July - and recorded a record breaking load factor of 91%.
A mixture of core and new routes figured strongly in the airline’s monthly performance with Malaga, Tenerife and Faro proving most popular with Monarch customers searching for some summer sun. New scheduled services to the Turkish gateways of Dalaman, Bodrum and Antalya also showed great strength and achieved average load factors around 80%, whilst a new service between Gatwick and Palma launched mid-month and is already showing strong demand.
