2010 News - Flights - Monarch helps Kiss customers get-away

19 08 2010

- Extra flights and special discount available -

Leading leisure airline Monarch has announced extra flights and a special discount to assist customers who have had their holiday plans ruined due to the demise of Kiss Flights.

Five additional flights will operate between Gatwick and Dalaman in Turkey next month to offer more availability to those looking to re-book their holidays to this popular sunshine hotspot, after their travel plans were thrown in to disarray when Kiss Flights’ parent Flight Options ceased trading on Tuesday evening.

In addition to the extra flights, Monarch has also launched a special discount to help Kiss customers get-away to Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and Cyprus this winter. Simply by entering the code ‘KISS’ when booking a flight via www.monarch.co.uk, customers can enjoy £10 off return flights across all of Monarch’s scheduled routes for travel from 01 November 2010 to 30 April 2011.

Managing Director of Monarch Airlines, Tim Jeans said “We are seeing the strongest demand for flights to Dalaman from customers previously booked with Kiss Flights and are delighted to be able to offer these additional flights from Gatwick. We will continue to monitor the situation closely with a view to adding further flights to destinations that may be required.

“We are also pleased to offer a special KISS discount across all of all of our scheduled flights this winter season, as it’s not just those that have been immediately affected by the demise of Kiss Flights, but those with forward bookings as well.”

Monarch is one of the UK’s largest leisure airlines, operating both charter and scheduled flights, carrying over 6 million passengers per year. The airline is the principal independent supplier of charter seats to tour operators large and small, flying to around 50 destinations across Europe, America, Africa and Asia from the UK’s principal and regional airports.

The scheduled service division of Monarch Airlines offers low cost services from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester Airports to destinations in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Turkey.

The airline, based at Luton, operates one of the most well-equipped fleets in the skies today comprising 27 Airbus and three Boeing aircraft.  The airline will also be one of the first UK carriers to take delivery of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

Monarch is the oldest airline in the UK still operating under its original brand name and has this year celebrated its 42nd year of flying.
