2010 News - Flights - Monarch gets set for record Easter
30 03 2010
The great Easter getaway has kicked off again, and award winning low fares airline Monarch (www.monarch.co.uk) is reporting a notable increase in the number of Brits looking to get away this year.
Between 26 March and 11 April, the airline will operate 1,000 flights and carry almost 200,000 scheduled passengers to top holiday destinations throughout the Eastern and Western Mediterranean – a 5% increase on the Easter holiday period last year*.
The Canary Island of Tenerife is proving to be the most popular getaway from the UK this Easter, closely followed by Malaga in the Costa del Sol and Alicante in the Costa Blanca, where temperatures of up to 24 degrees are forecast – 10 degrees higher than can be expected in the UK!
Great deals for Easter and the summer are still available on scheduled flights to all of Monarch’s European destinations, and can be booked at www.monarch.co.uk.
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports. In addition to year-round low fares, Monarch also offers a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals that can be pre-booked or purchased onboard with prices from £3.00. To enable customers to select where in the cabin they sit and ensure that families and groups sit together, seats can be pre-booked at £7.50 per one-way flight, or from only £15, extra-legroom seats are available, which offer up to six inches of extra space.
Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between seven days and 4.5 hours prior to departure.
In addition to flights, Monarch also now offers a huge range of great value holidays, accommodation options, car hire and travel insurance.
