Passenger numbers in August soared yet again for Monarch as holiday makers escaped the grey British summer in their droves and the airline carried over 484,500 scheduled passengers and recorded a record breaking load factor of 94%.
A mixture of core and new routes figured strongly in the airline’s monthly performance with Malaga, Tenerife, Faro, Alicante and Palma proving most popular with Monarch customers searching for some summer sun. New scheduled services to the Turkish gateways of Dalaman, Bodrum and Antalya also showed great strength with all routes on the network achieving load factors in excess of 90% - another record for Monarch’s scheduled services.
