2011 News - Flights - Phenomenal demand results in thousands of extra Monarch seats this summer!

Due to soaring demand from customers, leading leisure airline Monarch is adding thousands of extra seats to its scheduled programme of flights over 14 routes this summer to Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Turkey.

Additional flights for summer 2011 from 27 May include:
- Luton – Gibraltar – an extra four flights per week
- Luton – Alicante – an extra two flights per week
- Luton – Malaga – an extra two flights per week
- Luton – Majorca – an extra two flights per week
- Luton – Dalaman – an extra two flights per week
- Luton – Bodrum – one extra flight per week
- Luton – Faro – one extra flight per week
- Manchester – Larnaca – one extra flight per week

An additional 16,000 seats will also be available from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Lanzarote, Larnaca, Majorca and Malaga this summer. All additional flights are available to book now via www.monarch.co.uk with fares starting from just £40.99 one way including all taxes and charges.

Commenting on Monarch’s additional seats this summer, Managing Director of Monarch Airlines, Kevin George said, “Bookings for summer are already up 27% compared with the same time last year with demand from customers still increasing, so we are delighted to respond to this by adding over 135,000 additional seats to our flying programme this summer season.

“The onboard service offered on Monarch’s scheduled flights, which includes pre-allocated seats as well as extra legroom seating and a range of hot and cold food is over and above the levels provided by most low fare airlines and these extra seats will provide an even greater choice of low fares over the summer period.”

Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports. In addition to year-round low fares, Monarch also offers a great range of hot and cold meals that can be pre-booked or purchased onboard with prices starting from £3.00. All customers are allocated a seat at check-in but for those wishing to select where in the cabin they sit and ensure that families and groups are seated together, seats can be pre-booked from £7.50 per one-way flight. Passengers travelling on scheduled flights with pre-allocated seats can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in, which is available between 18 days and 4.5 hours prior to departure at no extra charge. For customers looking for added comfort, extra legroom seats are available offering up to six inches of extra space from only £15.
