02 03 2006
Flying to the Spanish Islands has never been so easy, thanks to low cost airline Monarch who has today launched two new flights and increased the frequency of one of its newly introduced services.
The new flights, which will commence at the beginning of May, will operate from London Gatwick to Lanzarote and from Birmingham to Lanzarote, meaning that Monarch will operate more flights to the Canary Islands this summer than any other low cost carrier.
In addition, the airline is increasing the frequency of flights between Birmingham and Balearic Island favourite, Menorca, raising the number of services each week to four.
Commenting on the expansion of the route network for Summer 06, Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled division said, “ We are delighted to be able to offer our passengers these new services to Lanzarote, which until now has been predominantly served by the charter airlines. The addition of services from Gatwick and Birmingham to existing flights from Luton, means a 300% increase in flights to the Island this summer.
The increased number of flights to Menorca is also fantastic news for our rapidly growing Midlands base and is in direct response to demand. Flights between Birmingham and Menorca don’t start flying until 02 May, but we have already sold in excess of 10,000 seats on them, which far exceeds our initial expectations.”
These new services are all now available to book via www.flymonarch.com with fares starting from £49.99 one way including taxes and web booking discount.
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Blackpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester and Newquay. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and require no additional payment for checking-in baggage; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all, or for only £15, why not try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.
