01 03 2006
February was another successful month for low cost airline Monarch, who reported a 29% growth in passenger numbers during the month compared to the same period last year.
February 2006 saw the airline carry 174,080 passengers on its scheduled flights to a host of destinations in Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar, compared to 134,983 passengers in February 2005.
The month also saw the airline put on sale its flights for winter 2006/2007 which included the introduction of new services from Manchester to Lanzarote and London Gatwick to Tenerife, as well as the continuation of a number of new flights that are being introduced for summer 2006 – Birmingham to Almeria; Birmingham to Faro; Birmingham to Murcia and Manchester to Menorca.
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Blackpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester and Newquay. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and require no additional payment for checking-in baggage; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all, or for only £15, why not try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.
