2008 News Archive - Flights - Fast track immigration now available for Monarch passengers at Manchester

07 08 2006

Monarch passengers travelling through Manchester Airport, can now fast track immigration when arriving in the UK, by using the newly installed eye-scanning automated booths.

After a successful trial at Heathrow Airport, the UK immigration service has launched their Project Iris scheme at Manchester Airport. The scheme allows UK citizens to by-pass the normal passport control checks by pre-registering a photograph of their iris before leaving the UK. On arrival back in the UK, they simply visit an automated booth to have their eyes scanned.

Monarch passengers who wish to register for Project Iris can visit the Iris registration point at Manchester Airport, which is situated opposite Gate 20 in Terminal 1, or visit the Home Office website at http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/applying/iris/
