2008 News Archive - Flights - Flying the nation for 40 years! Were you one our first passengers?

03 03 2008

2008 is a very special year as we celebrate flying the nation for 40 years and we’re launching a search to find our very first passengers!

Friday 05 April 1968 saw our first commercial flight take to the skies on one of our two Bristol Britannia aircraft bound for Madrid. Flight OM118 took off from our base at London Luton shortly after 09:30 am with 132 passengers onboard – were you one of them?

If so, we’d love to hear from you about your flying experience, whether you were travelling on a family holiday, visiting friends and family or maybe marking an anniversary. Any photos you have from this first flight would also be gratefully received.

If you were one of our first passengers simply contact us on 01582 398241 or e-mail press.office@flymonarch.com. To celebrate finding you, we would like to include you in our 40th birthday activities in April as well as offering you a celebratory pair of return flights.

So what are you waiting for? Get in touch and help us celebrate our 40th birthday in style!
