- First European airline to offer secure and faster online payments via PayPal -
Award winning low fares airline, flyMonarch.com has joined forces with PayPal, a global leader in online payments, to be the first European airline to offer its customers the ability to pay for flights using their PayPal account.
flyMonarch.com, who was voted Leisure Airline of the Year for the second consecutive year in recent travel industry awards, has introduced the service ensuring that in addition to debit and credit card transactions, customers can also now benefit from making payments via PayPal’s safe, simple and smart way to pay online.
With over 15 million UK accounts, PayPal offers a convenient way to pay online as well as protecting customers’ transactions and personal information. Once customers open an account, their financial details are securely stored, meaning that when paying for flyMonarch.com flights via PayPal , customers do not need to re-enter their financial details, and are therefore able to benefit from a much faster booking process.
Commenting on the introduction of PayPal services, managing director of flyMonarch.com, Liz Savage said, “We are delighted to have teamed up with PayPal to offer our customers a secure alternative to online credit and debit card transactions. We pride ourselves in offering our customers year-round low fares and a great choice of additional services which this new partnership helps to reinforce. Being the first European airline to offer the PayPal payment option is great news for our customers, many of whom are already PayPal account holders, and will help to further streamline our online booking process on flyMonarch.com. It also gives registered travel agents who book on flyMonarch.com another flexible way to pay and manage their booking activity without having to rely on credit or debit cards.”
Also commenting on the partnership, Cameron McLean, General Manager of Merchant Services at PayPal said, "We are delighted that our customers will be able to pay with PayPal and continue to benefit from a quick and safe shopping experience. We decided to launch with flyMonarch.com first as they are clearly innovators in the airline industry, focused on constantly improving the customers’ experience, matching PayPal’s ethos. Online shopping amongst UK adults has increased by 157% in the last five years with 28 million adults actively transacting on the cyber high street, buying flights has never been easier or more secure."
flyMonarch.com operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports and was named as Leisure Airline of the Year in recent Travel Industry Awards for the second year in succession. In addition to year-round low fares, flyMonarch.com also offers a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals onboard with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all experienced on some other airlines, or from only £15, why not try one of our 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.
Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between 24 and 4.5 hours prior to departure or from 36 hours if you are a Vantage Club member.
