Passengers of low cost airline Monarch really did stand up and vote with their feet in January as they showed their support for the launch of the airline’s passenger manifesto and joined the low cost revolution to make flying fun again.
Year-on-year comparative statistics from Monarch’s website, FlyMonarch.com, show a 52% increase in the number of visitors to the site in January 2006 compared with January 2005, making it the biggest month in visitor traffic since the website’s booking system launched in December 2003.
The increased number of visitors to the site also generated a 35% increase in the number of flights booked, with the most popular destinations being Malaga, Alicante and Tenerife.
Passengers travelling on Monarch’s scheduled services in January 2006, also rose by 2.8% year-on year (139,184 compared to 135,388 in January 2005).
Monarch’s scheduled flights for Summer 2006 are all now on sale via FlyMonarch.com and include the introduction of six new services and capacity increases on nine routes, consolidating the airline’s position as the leading low cost carrier from the UK to Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands.
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Blackpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester and Newquay. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and require no additional payment for checking-in baggage; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all, or for only £15, why not try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space?
