Low cost airline Monarch Scheduled continues to grow rapidly as it announces a 46% increase in passenger traffic for June 2005, compared with the same period last year.
Monarch Scheduled flew 268,186 passengers* in June, compared with 183,229 in June 2004. Load factor was 78%.
June represented the Monarch Scheduled’s first full month of flying from its brand new base at Birmingham International Airport and saw 24,939 jet off with the region’s newest low cost airline.
Monarch Scheduled operates flights to Italy, Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers and a refreshing hot towel service; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £2.50. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all and regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme Vantage Club.

*Represents the number of earned seats flown by Monarch Scheduled. Earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because once a flight has departed, a no-show customer is not entitled to change flights or seek a refund.
