Low cost airline Monarch, continues to go from strength to strength as it announces a 30% increase in passenger traffic on its scheduled services during March 06, when compared to the same period last year.
During this time, a total of 234,287* passengers flew on the airline’s low cost services to a host of destinations in Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar, compared to 180,840 passengers in March 2005. Online bookings via the airline’s website www.flymonarch.com also increased by 118% in March 06 compared to March 05 and saw a 70% increase in the number of visitors to the site.
March also saw the launch of Monarch’s newest route from Manchester to Mahon, the only low cost carrier offering direct flights to Menorca from Manchester, with four weekly flights, and the first scheduled service to the island from any airport outside London.
Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Blackpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester and Newquay.
