Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited has appointed Richard Mintern to the newly created position of information technology director. Richard, who joins the company’s board of directors, will be responsible for all IT and telecommunication-related aspects of the business for both Monarch Aircraft Engineering and Monarch Airlines including developing e-commerce opportunities.
Bob Kirby, managing director, Monarch Aircraft Engineering commented: “Information technology is now a critical element of our business and we felt that these activities should be represented at board level. Richard will be focusing on the strategic development of both Monarch Aircraft Engineering and Monarch Airlines’ systems, to allow both companies to gain the competitive edge in an increasingly fast moving market place.”
Richard, aged 41, joined the company in 1989 having previously held positions at Britannia Airways and British Aerospace in the fields of avionics and flight simulation. He was promoted to flight simulator engineering manager in 1995 and was further promoted to head of information systems in 1998. Richard holds a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, is a chartered engineer and is a member of both the Royal Aeronautical Society and British Computer Society.Previous Page
