01 05 2003
Monarch Airlines has appointed Captain Richard Scott to its Board of Directors as operations director. Richard succeeds Captain Mike Poole, who stepped down from the position after 14 years.
Richard has over 31 years experience in aviation and joined Monarch Airlines in 1980 as a line pilot. He worked his way up through the ranks to become a Captain in 1985, and fleet manager for the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet in 1993. He was then promoted to flight operations manager in 1997.
In 2000, he was promoted to the position of chief pilot before his current appointment to the Board of Directors.
Richard assumes Mike Poole’s previous responsibilities, which include managing the safety and efficiency of the company's flight operations, ensuring the airline’s safety standards continue to be held in high regard by the regulatory bodies and other industry professionals.
Captain Mike Poole remains on the board of Monarch Airlines as a non-executive director, and continues to fly as a senior training captain.Previous Page
