The Charter Airline Group of the UK (CAGUK) has appointed Peter Brown, chief executive of Monarch Airlines as its new chairman. Peter replaces Kevin Hatton from Britannia Airways who is standing down from the position after his one-year tenure.

The Charter Airline Group is an independent grouping formed to represent the interests of the major UK charter airlines and their passengers. The group consists of Air 2000, Britannia Airways, Thomas Cook, MyTravel as well as Monarch Airlines. Together, in the last year, these airlines have carried some 30 million passengers representing over 90 per cent of all passengers carried by UK non-scheduled airlines.
