Low fares airline Monarch continues to strengthen its position as the largest international scheduled carrier at Manchester Airport with the launch of new routes to Ibiza and Jerez, increased frequencies to Palma, plus new summer flights to Lanzarote.

The four times a week service to Jerez went on sale last week and is joined today by the rest of the Summer 2007 schedule which includes, a new five times a week service to the party capital of the Balearic Islands, Ibiza, twice daily flights to Palma and the continuation of flights to Lanzarote which start this winter. The introduction of these additional services brings the total number of scheduled Monarch flights operating from the airport next summer to 200 per week.

Commenting on the continued growth at Manchester, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled services, Tim Jeans, said, “Manchester continues to be Monarch’s largest UK base and we are delighted to be expanding services from here once again and bringing more low fares to the people of the Northwest. We are confident that the addition of Ibiza to the network will be hugely popular with our passengers and means that Monarch is the only scheduled airline to serve the three main Balearic Islands from the airport, with 22 flights a week now operating to Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza.”
