2008 News Archive - Flights - Monarch Scheduled invites loyal kids to take Vantage
09 08 2004
Low-cost airline Monarch Scheduled is pleased to announce that it has lowered the age to join its frequent flyer programme, Vantage Club, to enable all children aged two and over to enjoy the benefits previously only available to adults*.
Jonathan Crick, Commercial Director, commented “Monarch Scheduled is a very family-friendly airline and we value the custom of the many children who fly frequently with their families. Most airline loyalty schemes do not allow children to join, but we felt that was unfair. If parents are enjoying all the benefits of a loyalty club, then why shouldn’t the children? We felt that our younger loyal passengers should be recognised and rewarded too.”
The scheme offers three tiers of membership - Indigo, Silver or Gold - with varying levels of benefits. To join, passengers need to complete two return journeys in a 12-month period and they progress from Indigo to Silver and Gold levels after completing five and eight return flights respectively. Members earn flying points for every flight taken which can be redeemed for free travel.
Other benefits of the Vantage Club scheme include a dedicated reservations phone number; Silver and Gold members enjoy increased baggage allowance, priority check-in and baggage handling and advance registration for reservations. Gold members can use executive lounges, benefit from select seating on-board, free date changes to reservations, discounted car-parking at London Luton Airport and are offered a 50% discount on travel insurance with Online Insurance Specialists (OIS).
As with adult membership, children need to make at least two return journeys within 12 months and an application form needs to be signed by the parent or guardian. Any child who has already completed two return journeys this year can join straight away without submitting boarding cards.
For more information call the Vantage Club dedicated reservations number on Tel: 0845 6502 123 or visit www.flymonarch.com.
Notes to Editors:
* The only benefits that may be unavailable to children are: executive lounge access, which is given at the discretion of the lounge (lounges are operated by third party suppliers and typically do not admit children); in accordance with safety regulations, children cannot occupy extra legroom seats which may be located adjacent to emergency exits. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 or over. Membership and Flying Points will not be awarded for any flights made prior to joining. Application forms can be downloaded from www.flymonarch.com or requested from Vantage Club administration by calling 01582 398 318.
