2008 News Archive - Flights - Monarch Scheduled signs new deal with Airport Transfer Services (ATS)

02 08 2004

Low cost airline Monarch Scheduled has signed an agreement with Airport Transfer Services (ATS), Europe’s leading airport transfer company, whose reliable minibus service transfers holidaymakers and business travellers between the airport terminal and their final destination.

Whether staying in a hotel, visiting friends or enjoying a golfing holiday in the sun, ATS is available every day of the year to transport passengers door-to-door in comfortable, air-conditioned minibuses for up to eight people.

ATS covers all Monarch Scheduled European destinations, including Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Malaga, Menorca, Palma and Tenerife*. Flyers can choose to reserve a shared minibus or private transfer, by clicking the link on http://flymonarch.a-t-s.net after making their flight booking. Payment is made at the time of booking via a secure-online system and the price varies according to the number of people travelling and the distance covered. Reservations are confirmed by email and pick-up times can be sent via SMS.

The simple online reservation system lists flight numbers and times at all major airports, plus resort destinations and common drop-off points – including hotels, villas and apartments – minimising the risk of incorrect booking details. The reliable 24-hour service includes English-speaking drivers in every destination to meet passengers in the airport arrival hall or at their doorstep. Costs vary according to distances and number of people travelling.

Jonathan Crick, commercial director at Monarch Scheduled, comments “ATS offers a safe, reliable and competitively priced method of transporting our passengers between the airport and their final destination. At Monarch Scheduled, we believe in creating partnerships that will meet our customers’ needs and make their lives easier. Therefore, we know that by teaming up with ATS we can offer our passengers added peace-of-mind and yet more savings when they travel abroad.”

Says ATS Director Hamish Brown; “The growing trend for independent air travel has exposed a genuine need for a service such as ours throughout Europe. Monarch Scheduled customers are guaranteed high standards of service coupled with competitive prices and we are delighted to be able to offer reliable airport transfers to complement travellers’ low-cost-with-frills flight experience with Monarch Scheduled.”

Monarch Scheduled flies to eight destinations in Europe from London Luton, London Gatwick and Manchester. Fares start from as little as £79 return (inc. taxes) and include pre-bookable allocated seating to avoid the last minute free-for-all, complimentary daily newspapers and in-flight entertainment and a refreshing hot towel service. Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.

Instead of offering the traditional set meal included in the price, passengers on Monarch Scheduled now have the option of buying a delicious hot meal, freshly baked snack, sandwich or full English breakfast from the recently launched in-flight menu. Hot drinks, plus a selection of wines, spirits and minerals are also available.

Monarch Scheduled has also teamed up with a number of other well-known companies to offer range of travel extras including airport parking, car hire, insurance, accommodation and currency. Further information is available at www.flymonarch.com or by calling 08700 40 63 00.

* The service is scheduled be available from Tenerife by the end of August 2004.
