15 08 2006
Low fares airline Monarch has continued to operate a 100% schedule over the past five days despite the increased security measures that have been imposed by the Department for Transport (DFT), with NO flights being cancelled.
Whilst a number of the other major airlines were forced to review their schedules and cancel flights due to the disruption at UK airports, 88% of Monarch’s scheduled flights departed within one hour of scheduled departure time*, filling passengers with confidence that when flying with Monarch every effort is made to operate flights with minimal disruption. In total 490 flights operated between Thursday 10 and Sunday 13 August 2006.
The airline’s website www.flymonarch.com saw a 54% increase in the number of visits on the day the security measures were imposed, Thursday 10 August, as passengers looked for information regarding the hand luggage restrictions and up-to-date flight information. Monarch’s Reservation centre also saw a 168% increase in the number of calls taken compared to the same day the previous week.Previous Page
