Low fares airline, Monarch, will this week launch online check-in for passengers travelling on scheduled flights from Manchester, therefore reducing the required time spent at the airport and ensuring that seating on flights is allocated in advance.
From today, passengers booked to travel from Manchester can check in for their flight via the airline’s website, www.flymonarch.com and issue a boarding card from the comfort of their own home. Online check-in is available from 24 to 4 hours prior to departure, or from 36 hours if you are a member of the airline’s frequent flyer programme, Vantage Club.
Online check-in can be used by all passengers with pre-allocated seats travelling on scheduled flights from Manchester. If seats have not been pre-allocated at the time of booking, this can be done during the check-in process for the standard pre-book charge of £5. Alternatively, extra legroom seats, which offer an extra six inches of space, can be booked for only £15 (£20 on Canaries flights).
Commenting on the launch of online check-in, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled service division, Tim Jeans, said, “Monarch is the largest international scheduled carrier operating out of Manchester and we are delighted that our loyal base of passengers here are early adopters and always keen to try new products and services.“The introduction of online check-in will speed up the check-in process for a large number of our passengers and we look forward to rolling the service out across our other UK bases in the coming months”.
Passenger’s taking advantage of online check-in and travelling with hand-baggage only can go directly to the departure gate on arrival at Manchester Airport. Passengers travelling with hold baggage should first take their bags to the fast bag drop desk, where they will be tagged as normal and sent down to the aircraft.
Monarch operates scheduled flights from Manchester to Alicante, Almeria, Faro, Gibraltar, Jerez, Lanzarote, Malaga, Menorca, Palma and Tenerife. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and require no additional payment for checking-in baggage; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all, or for only £15, why not try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.
