Monarch Airlines has been advised by officials at ANA owned airports in Portugal that strike action planned by Fire Crews to take place on Friday 06 January 2006 has been confirmed and will take place between 00.01 and 23.59.
As a result of the strike action, operations in and out of Portuguese airports, including Faro, will be restricted and airlines are being forced to cancel a number of flights.
Early indications show that Monarch flight ZB746 between London Gatwick and Faro, scheduled to depart at 14.00 and ZB747 between Faro and London Gatwick, scheduled to depart at 18.05, will still be able to operate. Services to and from Manchester on Friday 06 January have been cancelled however.
Passengers booked to travel on flights ZB580 between Manchester and Faro and ZB581 between Faro and Manchester are therefore advised to contact Monarch to amend their travel plans on 00 44 1582 556333 between 09.00 and 17.30 (UK time) or Reservations on 08700 405040 between 08.00 and 20.00 (UK time).
