India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and The Maldives were hit by a series of tidal waves on 26th December 2004, following a major earthquake in the Indian Ocean.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued an emergency number, 020 7008 0000, for people who wish to report missing relatives and friends affected by the tsunami or to pass on information about them.

People who were due to fly to affected countries in the region should contact their Tour Operator for further information and advice regarding their flight/booking.
