2008 News Archive - Holidays - Airline champions surfing in Lanzarote
03 01 2007
Jet2, one of the UK's leading low-cost airlines, has cited surfing in Lanzarote as one of its top recommendations for a holiday this year.
The airline, which is primarily based in the north of England, has pointed out that travel is a key New Year's resolution for many people.
Unfortunately, millions of people promise themselves a holiday of a lifetime but never get round to taking it. Jet2 has urged these people to follow their dreams and take advantage of some of the great travel experiences on offer in Europe.
Pointing out that flights to Lanzarote can be bought for as little as £39.99, Jet2 observes that the island is often known as the Hawaii of Europe.
It has "great all-year-round surfing and is definitely cheaper than its American namesake", the recommendation concludes.
Lanzarote has dozens of stunning beaches, including many striking coves that boast beautiful white sand. The volcanic sands of Puerto Del Carmen are also popular with tourists, however, and this is a particularly good area for snorkelling.
Surfers may prefer the likes of Famara and La Santa, both of which are excellent for beginners and experts alike.
