2008 News Archive - Holidays - Autumn 'is best for visiting Majorca'

06 10 2008

Those planning a holiday in Majorca might be interested to hear the opinion of one travel writer, who claims that autumn is the best time to visit the island.

Writing in the Times, Cath Urquhart spoke of a recent trip to the perennial holiday favourite and highlighted the remarkable number of activities available to those who take a post-summer break.

"There is now so much to do off-season in Majorca that I have started to wonder why anyone comes in high summer," she said.

While she was there, Ms Urquhart took the artists' tour of Deia, enjoyed a visit to a health spa and went swimming and on walks.

She also marvelled at the beauty of Soller and Port de Soller, with their "stylish" hotels and breathtaking mountainous backdrop.

Visitors to Deia might like to pay a visit to the home of the late British poet Robert Graves, which has been converted to a museum dedicated to his work.
