2008 News Archive - Holidays - Barcelona's Guitar Festival hits the right note

03 04 2007

The annual Barcelona Guitar Festival is one of Spain's premier musical events and attracts visitors from all over Europe and the world.

Lasting from March all the way up to May, this year's festival is to feature greats like Tommy Emmanuel, Chuck Loeb, the Stanley Clarke Band, the Perdro Javier Gonzales Trio, Ana Popovic and Nina Pastori.

A host of talent will descend on Spain's cultural capital of Barcelona during the festival, which will see events held at the Palau de la Musica, L'Auditori, Sala Luz de Gas and the Auditori Winterhur.

So far 37 different concerts have been booked, more than enough to satisfy any guitar aficionado.

If you've been looking for an excuse to visit Barcelona, universally recognised as one of the greatest cities in Europe, then this is undoubtedly it.

While there, one can quickly acquire a healthy tan from the usually sunny weather and perhaps take in the works of Anton Gaudi, many of whose works are on the World Heritage List.
