2008 News Archive - Holidays - Bargains to be had in Bulgaria

01 04 2008

Places in eastern Europe such as Croatia, Montenegro, Turkey and Bulgaria are becoming more popular among British travellers and can cost less to visit, it has been reported.

According to Fregata Travel, breaks in eastern Europe will "cost you a bit less" than western European destinations.

Specifically, it is argued, city breaks to Eastern Europe offer holidaymakers good value for money.

"This applies to the hotels, the eating out and the entrance fees – the whole lot is going to cost you a bit less than it would for more traditional western European destinations," commented Tim Campbell, manager of Fregata Travel.

He noted that with holidaymakers wanting to try something different there is a "novelty" appeal in visiting eastern Europe.

Cities that could be more expensive were listed as Barcelona, Rome and Venice.
