A retired lady from Cumberland has won big on the bingo - and now plans to celebrate with a holiday in Tenerife.
The Cumberland News reports that Ada Borrowdale, a pensioner living in Shap, won £27,000 on the bingo.
While the lucky winner plans on using the funds to help her family of eight children, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, she is also planning on taking a break in the sun.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet. I've never had that kind of money in my life. I have a big family and this will really help them. If there's any left over, I'd like a holiday in Tenerife or Benidorm," happy Ada commented.
The publication notes that when her winning number was called, Ada was so surprised that her friend had to call out on her behalf.
Friends claim that Ada deserves the win after nursing her brother through cancer for 15 months prior to his death a week before her numbers came up.
Tenerife recently featured in a Boots poll as a popular, yet secretive holiday destination for Brits.
