2008 News Archive - Holidays - Celebrate the state of Virginia

11 09 2007

Virginia could prove a truly great American state to visit this autumn as it hosts its annual state fair.

A proudly patriotic event, it should provide a major attraction for visitors enjoying a pre-winter break in the region.

The event organisers have prepared a classic country fair with pig racing and a duck slide being two of the attractions promised as part of the outdoor classroom area, which will showcase 5,000 farm animals to eager animal lovers.

Agricultural and commercial stalls should educate holidaymakers about the state of Virginia, while fairground rides, music and traditional food dishes will provide a pleasurable experience for all the family.

Visitors need not rush to enjoy the festivities, as the fair lasts for 11 days from September 27th until October 7th.

Also culminating at the end of September in Virginia is the Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend.

A free event celebrating a summer of culture and arts entertainment, a beach party and air show should delight shoreline revellers.
