2008 News Archive - Holidays - Coleen jetting off to Lapland
18 12 2006
Coleen McLoughlin, the fiancee of England superstar Wayne Rooney, has reportedly made plans to holiday in Lapland this year with her sister Rosie.
Rosie was adopted by the McLoughlins when she was just two years of age and she suffers from Rett syndrome. The condition means that she has to use a wheelchair and struggles with many day-to-day activities and Coleen has apparently decided that a week in Lapland is exactly what she needs this Christmas.
An exclusive in the Sunday Mirror indicates that Coleen and Rosie will meet Rudolph and Father Christmas during their stay in the Arctic Circle, as Wayne stays behind to concentrate on his football.
A source said: "Coleen absolutely adores Rosie and loves to spoil her. She thought a trip to meet Santa before Christmas was the perfect way to make this year extra special."
Another source told the newspaper: "It is every child's dream to meet Santa and Coleen wants to make Rosie's come true."
Visitors to Lapland at Christmas inevitably want to meet Santa and to enjoy the SantaPark theme park, but tourists can also hike in the mountains, enjoy a number of extreme sports or even go panning for gold.
